Education is one of the greatest modern-day tools which allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. On Thursday 21st February, 2019, Ms. Twanique Barrow, Communication and Public Education Officer for the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority (NPRBA), conducted her first school programme for 2019 with forty-five (45) Fourth Grade students of the Lodge Village Government School. Ms. Barrow facilitated a Power Point presentation on Promoting a Healthy Environment. The students were sensitized about the negative impacts of pollution on their environment and health, and were challenged to reduce their impact on the environment through more conservative means. In addition, a video was shown to the students to reiterate the 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The NPRBA would continue to advocate for the environment through education in schools across SVG.
