May 22 has been proclaimed by the United Nations as International Day for Biodiversity. This day has been established in the effort to bring awareness of biodiversity issues. National Parks Authority and the Forestry Division, went to the North Leeward Primary Schools and Secondary Schools recently to educate the students on the importance of biodiversity.

We were embraced by the students and teachers- they really appreciated the time we took to express the concerns on sustaining our environment. We focused on the Cumberland Watershed Project that has been implemented in effort to improve the ecosystems and water quality.
